America has done a good job over the years breeding the flavor out of our food. Across the board, but especially in lamb.

We are changing that at Shadycreek, in two distinct ways – one lamb at a time.

First, with the breed we choose to raise – Katahdin Sheep.

The Katahdin is hair breed, not a wool breed, of sheep.

This is important because wool breeds produce high levels of Lanolin for their wool, which produces the traditionally intense, musky and \”gamey\” flavor that many have experienced.

Our lamb meat is milder than your traditional lamb, tender and delicious.

Second, we believe sheep should be – well, sheep.

Born and raised 100% on pasture, our sheep are rotationally grazed across our lush regenerative pastures, free from antibiotics, steroids, dewormers, added growth hormones and anything that isn\’t, welp, grass.

You might say we\’re a little old-fashioned, but we would just say we keep it pretty simple, as God designed – from our farm to your table, our lamb is mild and full of flavor.
